The San Francisco Public Library now offers Teacher Library Cards, which allow educators to borrow library materials for longer, to request more reserves, and to request multiple copies of the same items. You can borrow up to 100 items for 6 weeks, and have multiple holds on the same item (great for getting class sets!).

Eligibility

Any person employed as a teacher, educator, administrator, librarian, childcare provider, or afterschool program provider at a school, childcare facility, or afterschool program in the City and County of San Francisco is eligible for a Teacher library card, which is valid for one year. Apply in person at your local San Francisco library, and show a valid picture ID and proof of current teacher status.
