What to expect during this Special Live Event
Luis explores the Twilight Zone

We know less about the mysterious part of the ocean known as the twilight zone than we do about the surface of the moon. Academy scientists like Bart Shepherd are helping to change that by exploring this new frontier.

In this 1-hour live discussion, we will explore the mysterious twilight zone with Bart. Students will have the opportunity to listen in on a conversation in the twilight zone and try to interpret what our scientists are saying. Also, Bart will introduce us to the many new and rare species he and his team found in the twilight zone.

This program is designed to be interactive in nature! Students will have the opportunity to ask Bart about their curiosities regarding what it is like to study in the twilight zone, the type of skills needed, and the different species discovered there.
