Black-Footed Penguins
Part of an effort to stabilize the captive population of these precious birds, a breeding colony of 10 Black-footed penguins waddles and swims in this display. The penguin environment at the Steinhart Aquarium is one of the most dynamic and fascinating aquarium displays. Our colony of 10 Black-footed penguins is part of a nationwide captive breeding effort to ensure the continuing survival of this threatened species.
