Rules for Playing Ma Kpon

1. Two players sit on opposite sides of the board.

2. Each player receives 24 beans.

3. Each player places four beans in each cup that is on his or her side.

4. To start the game, player #1 takes all the beans from any cup on his or her own side and distributes them one at a time counterctockwise in each cup around the entire board. One bean per cup.

5. The player #2 takes all the contents from one cup on his/her side and distributes them counter clockwise. One bean per cup.

6. Step #3 and #4 is repeated by each of the players throughout the game.

7. A player "captures an unprotected village" when the last bean he/she has, lands in a cup on the others person's side, containing one or two beans. If the other person's cup contains three or more beans, you lose a "man" (bean).

8. The player who captures the most villages is the winner.
