CALIFORNIA ACADEMY OF SCIENCES SAN FRANCISCO (January 1999) — A rich gathering of remarkable authors, scientists, explorers and poets provides an opportunity for curious readers to learn about the authors’ insightful works in a personable, conversational format. During the California Academy of Sciences Conversations at the Herbst Theatre, several guests will be interviewed by Dr. Samuel Taylor, Chairman and Curator of Education at the California Academy of Sciences. The annual series, made possible in part by a grant from the Richard
& Rhoda Goldman Fund, is presented in association with City Arts and
Lectures, Inc. This year, the authors will discuss diverse topics ranging
from AIDS to birding.
All shows start at 8 p.m. and will be held at the Herbst Theatre at 401 Van Ness Avenue. Individual tickets are $17 (or $14 for California Academy of Sciences members). Series tickets can be purchased for $75 (or $65 for California Academy of Sciences members).
