Neighborhood Free Days Return to the California Academy of Sciences SAN FRANCISCO (September 14, 2000) - San Francisco residents will once again enjoy free admission days to the California Academy of Sciences. Last year, over 4,000 San Francisco residents visited the Academy on Neighborhood Free Days in its inaugural year. Information about Neighborhood Free Days will be posted throughout San Francisco in Community Centers, Public Library Branches, Recreation and Park Sites, Preschools and Daycare Centers, Schools, and Neighborhood Businesses. Additional information is available at www.calacademy.org and on (415)750-7145. Each visiting adult must prove residency by showing a drivers license or a utility bill. Only residents from the zip codes invited on the designated dates will be admitted free of charge. This year, the program has been expanded to include Sundays so visitors can now visit on one of three days: Friday, Saturday or Sunday. The Academy encourages the use of public transportation.
