SAN FRANCISCO (October 5, 2001) - Join Orquesta La Moderna Tradición and feel the rhythm of traditional Cuban music under the stars of Morrison Planetarium on Wednesday, October 24, at 7:30 p.m. In Havana Under the Stars, world renowned orchestra director, Roberto Borrell, leads a unique ensemble dedicated to the performance of classical Cuban dance music. Enjoy the lilting grooves of the danzón, a legendary ballroom style that developed from the synchronization of African and European music in Cuba. A reception at 7 p.m. will precede the 7:30 p.m. concert.
