Academy of Sciences Hosts 49th Annual
SF Bay Area Science Fair

SAN FRANCISCO (March 12, 2002) -- Which grows faster fur or hair? Does
gravity affect plant growth? Which type of food molds fastest? These questions
and more will be considered by the next generation of Bay Area scientists
at The San Francisco Bay Area Science Fair.
This year the Science Fair returns to the California Academy of Sciences
for its annual display of more than 300 junior and senior high school
students' science projects. Qualifying students from eight Bay Area counties
bring their projects to the Academy to share their scientific explorations
with the public, Tuesday, March 12, at 10 a.m. through noon on Saturday,
March 16, when winners will be announced.
