Thank you for your comments!
Hugh, the entire book can usually be accessed online page by page at the State Library of New South Wales site:
http://www.sl.nsw.gov.au/discover_collections/natural_world/antarctica/antarctica/anta_aurora2.html
However they're redesigning the site and only the first few pages of Aurora Australis are shown at the moment. Hopefully it will all be back online soon.

Unbelievable reading. I find myself reading outloud to savor the writer's words. It's unreal to think what these men had to go through for months and months. I don't believe we can ever fully imagine what it was like. I'm in complete amazement, both at the adventure itself, and historians who share it with the public. Thank you.

Wonderful to see this. I had no idea that a book had been published by Shackleton's expedition to Antarctica. Will it ever be posted for on- line access?
