Hugh, the entire book can usually be accessed online page by page at the State Library of New South Wales site:
http://www.sl.nsw.gov.au/discover_collections/natural_world/antarctica/antarctica/anta_aurora2.html
However they’re redesigning the site and only the first few pages of Aurora Australis are shown at the moment. Hopefully it will all be back online soon.

Unbelievable reading. I find myself reading outloud to savor the writer’s words. It’s unreal to think what these men had to go through for months and months. I don’t believe we can ever fully imagine what it was like. I’m in complete amazement, both at the adventure itself, and historians who share it with the public. Thank you.
