As a crafter, I can’t help but be excited to see the bit of green crocheted hat in the lower right corner of one photo. Was a glorious fate for a bit of handmade apparel!

Right, summer so the sun hardly sets (or does it set at all?). So the buckets might be a good idea for sleeping in the snow trenches after all!

Many reasons for the sleep deprivation: Staying up late to make snow shelters (even those of us who slept in tents helped the others build), constant sunlight throughout the night, keeping warm and dry (the ones sleeping in the trenches had it worst as you’d imagine), and having to be up, packed and have broken camp by 8:30 A.M. sharp. — mb
