California Academy of Sciences Honors New Academy Fellows

SAN FRANCISCO (October 30, 2000)--The California Academy of Sciences hosted a Fellows’ Science Day on Saturday, October 14 to honor new Academy fellows and for a discussion on topics of scientific interest presented to the governing body of the Academy of Sciences.

The Academy is governed by a distinguished group of eminent scientists who have been appointed Fellows of the California Academy of Sciences in recognition of their notable contributions to one or more of the natural sciences. Nominated by their colleagues and appointed by the Board of Trustees, the Fellows remain members of the Fellowship for life. Academy Fellows are distinguished scientists in one of the fields of Natural History, or a related field, primarily residing in northern and central California.
