The God Squad What: The California Academy of Sciences will host the San Francisco premiere of The God Squad Thursday, January 24, 2002. The film offers a behind-the-scenes look at the fight over the Northern spotted owl in Oregon and the fate of the Pacific Northwest's old growth forests and the Endangered Species Act. The story-behind-the-story, as told in surprisingly candid interviews with former President Bush's cabinet members (also known as the "God Squad"), scientists, lawyers, and residents of the Oregon area in question, is a fascinating cautionary tale. The film lasts about an hour. Ms. Hart will answer questions after the screening. The Film Arts Foundation of San Francisco sponsored production of this film. Where: California Academy of Sciences, Golden Gate Park When: Thursday, January 24, 2002 7:30 pm Cost: $5 members/$8 non-members |
