Dive into the Sea of Love at the California Academy of Sciences
Valentine's programs will excite visitors from February 10-15

SAN FRANCISCO (January 16, 2007) – Have you been looking for love in all the wrong places? If you haven't felt romance in the air, try looking in the water! From February 10-15, the California Academy of Sciences celebrates Valentine's Day with a slate of exciting and educational programs, designed to showcase the many displays of love in the animal kingdom. Embark on a child's version or adults-only version of a self-guided scavenger hunt, which will lead you to some of the aquarium's most amorous creatures, including the African penguins, which mate for life, and the red devil cichlids, which frequently lock lips. Or join the Academy's docents on a "Foolin' Around" tour. Departing daily at 11:30 am, each tour covers the fascinating reproductive practices of fish, reptiles, amphibians, and other creatures. Yes, the tours are about sex! Scavenger hunts and tours are free with museum admission.

In addition to these daily programs, visitors can also enjoy a romantic evening at Third Thursday, the Academy’s monthly after-hours event. This special evening takes place from 5 - 9 pm on February 15, and will feature cocktails, sex-themed tours, and soft Parisian ballads. Admission to Third Thursday is $5.
