Children's Birthday Party Program Launches
SAN FRANCISCO (March 1, 2011) — What better way to celebrate a birthday than among friends, cupcakes, and 38,000 live animals? Starting on March 1, the California Academy of Sciences will offer children's birthday parties on Saturdays and Sundays. Parties of up to 40 guests can enjoy a group tour of select Academy exhibits, interactive activities, birthday treats and more in a private party space that is theirs to enjoy for two hours.
Each party begins in a private room with snacks (and coffee for the adults) from The Moss Room, amongst festive eco-friendly party decorations. Then, an expert tour guide will take the group on a 30-minute tour through the birthday child's favorite museum exhibits, sharing little-known tidbits and fun insights along the way. Following the tour, the children will enjoy cupcakes, milk and juice in the birthday boy or girl's honor. Kids craft tables and a play area stocked with nature- and science-themed activities and toys will be set up for the duration of the party.
Children's birthday parties also include general admission to the Academy for the children in attendance, VIP access to the four-story rainforest after the party, e-invitations, a special gift from the Academy for the birthday child, and a dedicated party coordinator, so parents can relax and enjoy themselves.
