In African Hall, discover the how-to's of ordering wine like a pro with a talk from Nopa's Wine Director, Lulu McCallister. Then learn how sustainability has become the new standard with Sonoma County Winegrowers.

Importance of Aroma
(East Pavilion)

 Meet pros from the San Francisco Wine School and learn about the valuable role our noses play in achieving a full-bodied wine experience. Plus, Learn how yeast can inform taste from post docs at UC Berkeley.

The Science of Wine

 View wine vessels from throughout history from the Academy’s anthropology collection with collections manager Laura Eklund and brush up on the insect ecology of wine grapes with UC Berkeley’s Houston Wilson. 

Plus, get let the creative juices flow like wine while making cork crafts with Julia Jane Moore!

Winemakers Corner
(Swamp)
6:00 - 10:00pm, 
Chat sustainability and winemaking basics with winemakers and vermouth distillers from Da Vero WineryBluxome Winery, Krater Cellars, and Sutton Cellars.

Warriors Face-off
(Science Today)
6:00 - 9:00pm,
Watch the Warriors take on the Caveliers in Game 1 at the Science Today big screen (all while drinking Aliciella beer or fantastic wine selections!)

Tasting Room

6:00 - 10:00pm,
Check out wine flights curated by NOPA wine director Lulu McAllister at focused bars around the museum—from red to Rosé and Chardonnay to Champagne. Tastes, glasses and flights are available. Then get down to the disco-laced sounds of SytheTigers & The Bedazzlers.

Wine Around the World 
(The Terrace)
6:00 - 10:00pm,
Head out to the Terrace to purchase a tasting to take you around the world and learn all about how different wine can taste when you move it from place to place.

FOOD & DRINK A variety of food options are available at NightLife from 6:00-9:30 pm, including The Academy Cafe, The Terrace located in the West Garden, and The Academy Cafe Food Cart located in the front lobby. Enjoy a different fresh seasonal "craft on draft" cocktail at each NightLife bar area designed by our resident mixologist Shane McKnight! All bars accept cash and credit cards.

6:00-10:00 pm, Discover a world of dazzling live animals and shimmering scientific specimens in Color of Life

PLANETARIUM UPDATE Please note: Planetarium seating is limited . Admission is available to NightLife guests on a first-come, first-served basis. No passes required. We recommend arriving 20 minutes prior to showtime.
