The Combined Index to Herpetology Collections contains a summary of specimen holdings in each of the partipating institutions. Each record in the index contains the museum acronym (institution code), genus, species and corresponding number of specimens (count), and can be queried by either of the taxonomic name fields (genus and/or species). Note that different taxonomies are used in different collections, so the index should be queried by synonyms as well.
The index includes the holdings of 28 institutions.
