Space Shuttle: End of an Era

With the launch of Atlantis next week (barring any delays), NASA’s space shuttle program will officially come to an end. We look back at the spacecraft’s history.

    Finally!  What a colossal waste of money.  Space is for robots.  Sending people up there costs 10 times more but accomplishes 10 times less than what a robot can do.  Let's focus on the science and what we can learn from space rather trying to feed silly fantasies about human space flight.

    I don't think it was a waste. The Shuttleprogram a lasted for almost 30 years. The missions were successful, apart from two real catastrophies! Mankind has to explore, and space wants to be explored. We've got to step ahead and the Shuttles were a step ahead, I'm gonna miss them.

    Well, probably the robots could do all the tecnology connections, but today we have GPS, cellular phone, etc, etc. who knows, 30 years of money, skills, students loans, the end. What a privilige we have to see the beginning and the end. What next?
