Pritzker Lecture: The Evolution and Diversity of Amphibians
Featuring David Blackburn, Assistant Curator of Herpetology, California Academy of Sciences
Tuesday, May 15 at 7:00 pm
Join us in welcoming one of the Academy’s newest researchers, Dr. David Blackburn, assistant curator on the herpetology team. Dr. Blackburn studies the evolution and diversity of amphibians, especially frogs, on continental Africa. Nearly 90% of the 6,800 known species of amphibians are frogs. Their diversity and distribution make them prime research subjects for investigating larger questions about the history and movement of life within Africa and the origins and evolution of natural variation.
7:00 pm; Tickets are $12 for adults; $10 for seniors; free for Academy members.
Purchase tickets in advance online or by calling (415) 379-8000.
