About the Program
Join the Teen Advocates for Science Communication (TASC Force) Program! This new, exciting program for rising 8th through 12th graders at the California Academy of Sciences will take you on a journey of scientific exploration through the Academy’s exhibits, while you discover new ways to communicate knowledge to Academy visitors.
LEARN: Explore the California Academy of Sciences! The Academy is an education and research institution with the mission to explore, explain, and sustain life. It is the only place on the planet with an aquarium, a planetarium, a natural history museum, and a 4-story rainforest all under one living roof. Pretty cool stuff!
CREATE: Design new museum programs! Work alongside the Academy’s renowned scientists and educators to develop public programs that are current,
relevant, and fun. For example you might be part of a team developing flash mobs or reenacting Claude’s (the Academy’s albino alligator) life in the wild.
ADVOCATE: Be part of the youth voice at the Academy! The TASC Force will give you a chance to communicate science ideas that are important to you. Climate
change, life on other planets, or your other science interests will be the topics that TASC Force features.
