For visitors looking for an exhibit break, the Academy offers a variety of dining and shopping options.
Both of the dining options, the Academy Café and the Moss Room, are brought to you by renowned chef-in-residence, Charles Phan (Slanted Door).
Academy Café

The Academy Café offers a multicultural menu designed to appeal to appetites of all ages. Signature highlights include spring rolls, paninis, tacos and fresh pastries. Satellite food stations in the Piazza and West Garden also sell a variety of food and beverages.
Hours On Thursdays, we’re open from 6–10 pm for NightLife. Academy members and their guests now receive 10% off the Academy Café all year round. Please mention you are an Academy member and present your membership card at checkout counter. View the Cafés current menu. |
Moss Room

Hours Lunch reservations can be made through our reservation line at (415) 876-6121, online at www.themossroom.com, or at www.opentable.com. Academy members and their guests now receive 10% off the Moss Room all year round. Please mention you are an Academy member when making a reservation and present your membership card to your server. Academy Store

With over 2000 items for sale, visitors can shop a wide selection of Earth-friendly gifts and merchandise. Items include Academy clothing, fiction and non-fiction books, children's toys and DVDs. Members receive a 10% discount. The Academy Store is open during normal visiting hours and is located on the main level near the Academy entrance. Lab Jr.
 | Lab Jr. specializes in engaging children in science, exploration and learning. Located on the main level adjacent to the planetarium, the store features both high-tech and hands-on merchandise. It also features plush toys of the Academy's most famous residents, including Claude the albino alligator and the Academy penguins. Lab Jr. is open during normal visiting hours. Members receive a 10% discount. |
Aquarium Store

During your next visit, stop by the Aquarium Store, located next to the California Coast tank on the Lower Level. Browse a selection of ocean-inspired plush toys, locally sourced art, unique jewelry, books for all ages and more. Proceeds from the Aquarium Store support the Academy’s mission to explore, explain and sustain life. The Aquarium Store is open during normal visiting hours. |
