Our exclusive Behind-the-Scenes Tours give you the opportunity to dive deeper into the Academy and our comprehensive commitment to science, research, education, and conservation both here in our exhibits and beyond our walls.

We offer two exciting Adventure Tours that explore the Rainforest and Aquarium exhibits. Both Adventure Tours include General Admission to the Academy. These tours are for guests 5+ and we allow 14 guests maximum per tour.

For groups that want to explore the museum at leisure and at their own pace. General Admission tickets are a “one ticket, one price” option that include access to all exhibits and shows. Please note some exhibits and shows are age specific, while others are capacity controlled and subject to availability on the day of your visit. All ages.
Group Tickets - Evening
Why count sheep when you could count geckos, butterflies, sharks and penguins? Camp out for a night at the Academy, and you’ll see the museum in a whole new light. For ages 5-17 years with adult chaperones. For more details and to book online click here.
Take Thursday night to a whole new level as a NightLife VIP! Enjoy preferred entry, cocktails, a behind the scenes tour, VIP access to the rainforest, and reserved
Planetarium seating. Minimum age 21yrs.

Experience a whole new side of the Academy every Thursday night from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. See it transform into a lively venue filled with music and mingling; provocative

Group Visit Guidelines and Information
The Academy provides these guidelines for groups:
- Group rates are available for groups of 10 or more.
- Smaller groups interested in Academy Tours may call (888) 670-4433 or purchase tickets online.
- California-based youth groups may apply here for a visit at specially discounted rates.
- California-based school groups of students in grades pre-K through 12 may apply here for a visit at specially discounted field trip rates.
- The entire group must be fully assembled at the time of entry.
- We provide timed ticketing at a separate entry for groups.
- Group rates are available daily. However, there may be some restrictions and blackout dates. Those dates will be provided upon your request.
- All group reservations must be made in advance and require pre-payment.

To make eating easy, groups can pre-purchase box lunches or dining gift cards for their visit. The dining gift cards can be used at both the Moss Room restaurant and the Academy Café. Learn more about the café here and download a lunch order form here.
