Sponsored by the American Physical Society-Division of Plasma Physics, Science Teachers Day on November 1, 2016 is a day of workshops for middle and high school teachers where they can learn about plasma physics research and pedagogy. The workshops, which will take place at the San Jose Hilton, will align with both national science standards and California academic standards. Teachers will meet and talk with research physicists from research centers, laboratories, academia, and industry.
On November 3 and 4, middle and high school teachers and students can also attend the Plasma Sciences Expo at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center and participate in hands-on demonstrations like using magnets to manipulate plasma.
The Plasma Sciences Expo is open to everyone—parents, teachers, and community members—on November 3 from 6-8:30 pm. See lightning indoors and other hands-on science exhibitions being offered – free for all ages!
