Allison Fritts-Penniman

In this 45-minute program, 4th–12th grade students had the opportunity to chat with Academy scientist Allison about colorful creatures of the sea, nudibranchs. While they aren't the only sea slugs around, they are the most beautiful! Nudibranchs live in all the world's oceans, but you have to keep your eye out to find these small living treasures.

During the program, Allison revealed why she became a scientist, what it is like to study these colorful creatures in the ocean, and what she has learned about the life cycle of a nudibranch.

This program was interactive in nature! Students had the opportunity to ask Allison about their curiosities regarding her research, how she conducts science and why she loves her work.
