DJ Rockin'

Born in Los Angeles and raised in Orange County, Raul Castro created a name for himself in the San Francisco Bay area during the Swing craze of the '90s as a professional DJ, dance instructor and top-notch performer with Work That Skirt Dance Company.

His 25+ years of experience as a DJ and host extraordinaire, coupled with his impeccable sense of style and courteous manner, have made Raul a regular at many of the local clubs, including Forbidden Island Tiki Bar, The Red Devil Lounge, Verdi Club, 330 Ritch, and Supperclub, just to name a few.

He has appeared alongside major label acts, such as The English Beat, Dramarama, The Fixx, General Public, and ABC.

He's been a featured DJ at Prince tributes, roller derby matches, charter yacht cruises, burlesque performances, and the Castro Valley Pride Festival and as a DJ and performer for A-Town Booking Agency and Events in Alameda.

His vast range of music includes '50s rock and roll, '60s rock and soul, '70s disco and classic rock, '80s old school funk and new wave, vintage and contemporary Swing, Latin, classic Country and Western Swing, Top 40, Ambient/Chill, Exotica and Lounge, and so much more.

He excels at weddings, theme parties and private events. With a private client history that includes Microsoft, Honda, Coca Cola, and Johnson & Johnson, Raul keeps himself busy entertaining a variety of audiences in a variety of atmospheres.
