Our databases offer countless ways to access hundreds of years of natural-science history.

Academy Library Catalog

The Academy Library Catalog contains the holdings of the Academy Library and Naturalist Center including books, journals, videos/DVDs, computer files, maps, and rare books.

Academy Archives database

The Academy Archives are now searchable through our online interface at archives.calacademy.org.  Here, you can access, browse, and find material from over 160 years of archival collections, and examine item-level descriptions of processed collections.

You can also browse published, formal finding aids at our collection page in the Online Archive of California (OAC).

Corsi Digital Library

The Corsi Digital Library provides vetted images of plants, animals, fungi, landscapes and habitats, and people and cultures from the California Academy of Sciences Library free of charge for personal, educational, or non-profit use.

The Corsi Digitization Lab is our onsite text, fine art, and still image digitization facility, featuring the Internet Archive's TableTop Scribe cradle scanner, and a variety of flatbed and 35mm slide scanners to work with various materials in our collection.  Through a partnership with the Internet Archive, our digitized archival and published text (including field notebooks, Academy films, Academy publications, and unique published material) can be openly accessed at our IA landing page.
