Every Kid in a Park: Free field trips for 4th grade!
The Every Kid in a Park initiative allows 4th grade students to visit federal parks for free through August 2016
The Every Kid in a Park initiative provides an opportunity for US fourth grade students across the country to experience their federal lands and waters in person.
For Educators
President Barack Obama created Every Kid in a Park so fourth graders and their families could discover our wildlife, resources, and history for free.
Get passes for your students! As a 4th-grade educator, you can download an activity and print paper passes for each of your students. This program only provides passes for fourth graders.
You're a fourth-grade educator if:
- You're a teacher at a U.S. or U.S. military school, or
- You're an adult who engages fourth graders through a youth-serving organization. For example, a camp director, a home-school leader, an after-school leader, or a religious group leader.
Our friends at the National Park Service have developed free field trip activities at their various sites, depending on the natural, cultural, and historical treasures at each park.
For example, Bay Area 4th grade teachers should check out the free geology programs at the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.
Passes can be used as often as you like through August 2016. So get planning now!
