Soundwave NightLife

Soundwave returns to NightLife for an evening exploring urban architecture and what makes cities run.Wander around the Academy as artists activate various locations with performances and installations to reinterpret the rapidly shifting cityscape of San Francisco.

Architecture of Ideas

The "Architecture of Ideas" is an experience of symbolic information which can be viewed from multiple angles and different mediums. Using partially immersed VR headsets, Jason Marsh will take audiences through data architectures built by inhabitants of the city and into a new realm.

Plus, meet sustainable design experts from local engineering firm ARUP (whose work can be seen throughout the Academy’s award-winning green building).

Urban Intermezzo

In front of a Philippine coral reef, Yagiz Mungan will showcase a virtual rendering of the city that participants can both navigate and play as an instrument.

Motion into Music
(Science Today/East Garden)
7:00 - 8:00pm,
Watch Chris Van Raalte (aka, Vicar) perform live dance and music using The BodySynth, a device that transforms his movements and gestures into sound.
