Trivia Night (Monday, May 29)
A SPNHC conference isn’t a SPNHC conference without trivia night! Come confer with old friends and make new ones at the historic Grand Ballroom of the San Francisco Elks Lodge, located less than a 10-minute walk from the conference hotel near Union Square in Downtown SF. Learn something new (and trivial), laugh with colleagues, and enjoy light bites included in the ticket price. Beer and wine will be available for purchase, and prizes and bragging rights will be up for grabs! Doors open at 6 pm, and trivia begins at 7 pm.
Ice breaker (Tuesday, May 30)
Join us as we welcome you to San Francisco at the California Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park. Enjoy beverages and small bites as you explore your host institution’s public floor, including an aquarium and living roof as well as the renowned natural history museum. The ice breaker is included in the price of in-person registration but advance RSVPs are required.
SPNHC EPC Networking Luncheon (Wednesday, May 31)
Formerly known as the Emerging Professionals Luncheon, this event is hosted by the SPNHC Emerging Professionals Committee (EPC) annually at SPNHC Conferences and will be held at the Hilton Union Square. We invite professionals of all stages to attend, especially those who identify as emerging or early-career professionals, students, and first-time attendees of SPNHC. If you are unfamiliar with this event, we encourage you to attend! We also invite more established professionals who would be willing to provide their expertise and guide discussions held over lunch. This event is a good opportunity for members of SPNHC at all stages to connect and network with folks in their field!
Banquet (Thursday, June 1)
Shut down those laptops and put on your dancing shoes, it’s the annual banquet! Don’t miss this lively SPNHC tradition, held at the Hilton Union Square conference venue. Dinner is always followed by dancing while you enjoy the semi-host bar and—most important—the joyful company of our wonderful SPNHC colleagues.
Annual Business Meeting (Friday, June 2)
Please join us Friday morning for the annual business meeting and awards ceremony. All conference participants are encouraged to attend this discussion of Society business. As a bonus, free brunch will be provided! The meeting and brunch will be held at the Hilton Union Square. There is no additional charge but advance RSVPs for brunch are requested.
